On 4 May 2019, employees of Prodservis visited the international specialised exhibition IFFA, which is traditionally held once every three years in Frankfurt am Main. This exhibition is a landmark event for the meat processing industry worldwide. In 2019 it marked its 70th anniversary! Tens of thousands of exhibitors took part. In 2016, IFFA welcomed 62,440 visitors from more than 140 countries.
Over its long history, IFFA has gained worldwide recognition and become the No. 1 exhibition in the industry. IFFA is a place for specialists in the production, processing and packaging of meat products to meet and exchange information. The organisers have managed to bring together in one place the most innovative and technological solutions presented on the market.
For the professional audience, an industry conference was held during the exhibition. The conference programme covered new technologies, legislation, hygiene, food safety, development prospects for the meat processing markets and consumption of the products made, and the latest trends in the meat and dairy industry.
A stable trend is the increased number of participating companies that presented new developments in the production of products made from plant-based meat substitutes. Given the relevance of the healthy lifestyle theme and the growing number of people giving up eating animal meat, we see this segment as one of the most promising for the next few years.
The stands with meat-substitute products constantly drew large numbers of visitors. This segment aroused steady interest, and representatives of the exhibiting companies could barely keep up with introducing everyone interested to their developments and answering all the questions.
